Printed passport photos

This page makes a file for an online form. For a print sheet of passport photos (4 × 6 inch or 10 × 15 cm), use the passport photo maker on CrispKit, our sister site. For a smaller photo, see stamp size photo.

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded. FormJig is independent. It is not affiliated with Passport Seva, the Ministry of External Affairs, IBPS, NTA or any government body. Always check your own form’s instructions.

Questions

What is passport size photo size in cm?

3.5 cm wide × 4.5 cm high (35 × 45 mm), as the Passport Seva instruction booklet gives it ("4.5 cm length x 3.5 cm width").

What is it in pixels?

It depends on the DPI: 276 × 354 at 200 DPI, 413 × 531 at 300 DPI, 827 × 1063 at 600 DPI. The passport ICAO guideline gives 630 × 810 pixels for a digital photo.

What is it in inches?

1.38 × 1.77 inches. It is not 2 × 2 inches: that is the US passport size.

How many KB should it be?

No single number: each form sets its own. IBPS Clerk asks for 20–50 KB; NEET (UG) 2026 for 10–200 KB. Use the range in your form; the table above has the sources.

Do I need a photo for an Indian passport?

Not at a Passport Seva Kendra: the photo is taken there. The booklet asks for a 3.5 × 4.5 cm print only for paper submissions.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The resizing runs inside your browser, on your phone or computer. We tested every page with a network log: no request carried the picture. See the privacy page for the details.
