Signature size
About this size
Source: SSC CHSL 2026 notice, dated 7 Sep 2026. Read by us 5 Nov 2026. The notice also gives 4.0 × 2.0 cm. Why two sizes?
The notice gives two signature sizes
Section 9.6 of the SSC CHSL 2026 notice says about 6.0 × 2.0 cm. Annexure-IV Part-II of the same notice says about 4.0 × 2.0 cm. The upload screen shown in the CHT 2026 notice (p.56) says 6.0 × 2.0 cm at 300 DPI, so we start there. If your form screen shows the other size, pick 4.0 × 2.0 cm or enter your own numbers. We found no SSC note that settles it.

If your signature is under 10 KB
A clean signature is mostly white paper, which saves very small. If it comes out under 10 KB, we raise the JPG quality first. If it is still short, the result offers a light paper texture or a 10% larger pixel size. We never add empty bytes, and the result says what changed.
SSC takes your photo live inside the application form, so there is no SSC photo preset here.
Before you start
Sign in dark ink on plain white paper and photograph it from above in daylight. SSC’s instructions for uploading signatures (15 Aug 2024) ask that the signature fill at least 80% of its box, so sign large.
Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded. FormJig is independent. It is not affiliated with SSC, NTA or any government body. Always check your own form’s instructions.
Questions
Which size should I pick, 6.0 × 2.0 or 4.0 × 2.0 cm?
Start with 6.0 × 2.0 cm, the size in the notice text and on the upload screen. If the screen in your form shows 4.0 × 2.0 cm, switch to it.
Is there an SSC photo preset?
No. SSC takes your photo live inside the application form, so there is no photo file to resize.
What if my signature is under 10 KB?
We raise the JPG quality first. If it is still short, the result offers a light paper texture or a 10% larger pixel size. We never add empty bytes.
Is 1 KB 1,000 or 1,024 bytes here?
Forms rarely say. We count your minimum at 1,024 bytes per KB and your maximum at 1,000, so the file passes either way of counting. The result shows the exact bytes.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The resizing runs inside your browser, on your phone or computer. We tested every page with a network log: no request carried the picture. See the privacy page for the details.
