Clean up a photo of your signature, then fit the size and KB your form gives.
Sample: signature scan
File size (KB) and size (cm)
Getting a good signature photo
Sign in black or dark blue ink on plain white paper, a little larger than usual. Photograph it from straight above in daylight, without flash, so there is no glare. Fill most of the frame with the signature.
What "Clean up" does
It measures the paper across the photo and removes shadows and grey tones, turns the paper white and the ink near black, and trims the empty margins. Blue ink becomes black. Turn it off to keep the photo as it is and only resize it.
If the signature comes out under the minimum
A clean signature is mostly white, and white compresses very well, so a small size in cm can fall under 10 KB. We then raise the JPG quality to the top. If it is still short, you can keep a light paper texture or allow the pixel size to move by 10%. We never add empty bytes.
Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded. FormJig is independent. It is not affiliated with SSC, NTA or any government body. Always check your own form’s instructions.
Questions
Which size should I pick?
Use the size your form gives. If it gives cm, pick it here or enter it under "My own"; if it gives only KB, use "Any shape".
Why is the result black when I signed in blue?
Clean up makes the ink near black for a sharp scan. If your form asks for blue ink, untick Clean up so the colours stay as photographed.
Is 1 KB 1,000 or 1,024 bytes here?
Forms rarely say. We count your minimum at 1,024 bytes per KB and your maximum at 1,000, so the file passes either way of counting. The result shows the exact bytes.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The resizing runs inside your browser, on your phone or computer. We tested every page with a network log: no request carried the picture. See the privacy page for the details.
