Compress PDF to 200 KB
अपने फ़ॉर्म में लिखा KB चुनें
Your PDF stays on your device. We shrink the pictures inside it, keep the text, and show the exact size.
Sample: scanned certificate
Size your form allows
Details
Files stay on your device.
How it works
- Choose your PDF. It opens in your browser and never leaves your device.
- Pick or type the size your form allows. Any KB works under "My own size", with a minimum if your form gives one.
- Check page 1 and the exact bytes, then download. If the size cannot be reached, you see the smallest real file and why.
What gets smaller, and what stays
Most of a scanned PDF is pictures: each page of a phone scan is one photo. We save those pictures again at a lower resolution and JPG quality, one step at a time, and stop at the best quality that still fits. Text, fonts and lines are left exactly as they were, so text you could select before is still selectable after.
Every size shown is a file we really made and measured, down to the byte. The preview draws page 1 of that same file, so you can read the small print before you upload.
When 200 KB is not possible
A long PDF full of text can be bigger than 200 KB on its fonts and text alone. Then you get the smallest size we can reach and what takes the space, never a broken or unreadable file. You can remove pages, split the PDF, or turn every page into a picture, with a clear warning that its text will no longer be selectable.
How this differs from the big PDF sites
We read the compress pages of iLovePDF, Smallpdf, Adobe Acrobat online and PDF24 again on 6 Nov 2026. Here is what differs.
| FormJig | Those four sites | |
|---|---|---|
| Where your PDF goes | Stays in your browser | Uploaded, or processed in the cloud, as their own pages say |
| The size you set | Any KB you type, with a minimum if your form has one | Levels or quality settings; none showed a box for a KB size |
On top of that, FormJig shows the exact bytes and page 1 before you download, keeps text selectable, and says plainly when a size cannot be reached and what takes the space.
PDF size limits in Indian forms
We read these limits in each form’s own document and link it with its date. Rules change between exams and years, so the notice for your form has the last word.
| Form | Documents | PDF size | Where it says so |
|---|---|---|---|
| National Scholarship Portal | Every document uploaded for a scheme (PDF or JPEG) | Up to 200 kb | NSP FAQ (DEPD scheme), p. 3, Q13, no date shown: “size of the each document should not exceed 200kb” |
| JEE Main 2027 (Session 1) | Class 10 certificate or marksheet, disability (UDID), scribe and passport documents | 50 to 300 kB | JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin, pp. 9-10, public notice 24 Oct 2026: “should be a pdf between 50 kB to 300 kB” |
| NEET (UG) 2026 | Category, Class X, CGPA conversion, PwD (UDID), address and NRI/OCI documents | 50 to 300 kb | NEET (UG) 2026 Information Bulletin, p. 21, dated Feb 2026: “pdf format between 50 kb to 300 kb” |
Read by us 5 Nov 2026 · next check by 1 Feb 2027. A range like 50 to 300 kB means the file must not be smaller either; we never pad a PDF to reach a minimum.
Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded. FormJig is independent. It is not affiliated with NTA, IBPS, the National Scholarship Portal or any government body. Always check your own form’s instructions.
Questions
How do I reduce a PDF to 200 KB?
Choose the PDF above and keep "Up to 200 KB" selected. The result appears on its own, with the exact bytes and a preview of page 1. If your form gives a different number, type it under My own size.
Will the text still be readable?
Typed text stays exactly as it was, because we only re-save the pictures inside the PDF. Scanned pages are pictures, so their print gets softer as the size goes down; the tool warns you when it drops below about 90 dpi, and the preview shows the result at 100%.
Why can’t my PDF get under 200 KB?
Fonts, text and pictures we cannot shrink set a floor. The tool shows that floor and what takes the space, so you can decide: remove pages, split the file, or make every page a picture.
Is 1 KB 1,000 or 1,024 bytes here?
Forms rarely say. We count your minimum at 1,024 bytes per KB and your maximum at 1,000, so the file passes either way of counting. The result shows the exact bytes.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened, shrunk and saved inside your browser, on your phone or computer. We tested every PDF page with a network log: no request carried any part of the file.
My PDF has a password. Can I still compress it?
Not here. A PDF protected with a password, or locked against changes, cannot be changed in the browser, and we do not remove protection. If it opens without a password, your PDF viewer’s Print, then Save as PDF, makes an unlocked copy you can use.
