What fits in 200 KB

At 200 KB most photos keep many more pixels than a form shows. We try the full size at high quality first and only reduce when the file is still too big.

Our sample photo (1200 × 1500 px, 294 KB) came out at 181.9 KB, 1200 × 1500 px, quality 76%.

If your photo is already under 200 KB

We save it again at high quality and show the size. If your original already fits the form, you can simply upload the original.

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded. FormJig is independent. It is not affiliated with SSC, NTA or any government body. Always check your own form’s instructions.

Questions

Can the result be bigger than my original?

Yes, if your original was saved at a low quality: saving again at high quality can add bytes. The tool still keeps it under your maximum. If the original already fits, use it.

Is 1 KB 1,000 or 1,024 bytes here?

Forms rarely say. We count your minimum at 1,024 bytes per KB and your maximum at 1,000, so the file passes either way of counting. The result shows the exact bytes.

Does the file keep my camera details?

No. The saved file has no EXIF data (camera, date, any location). A photo taken sideways is turned upright first.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The resizing runs inside your browser, on your phone or computer. We tested every page with a network log: no request carried the picture. See the privacy page for the details.
